The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade has made the Today.com list as one of America’s most awesome boardwalks!
While the Myrtle Beach boardwalk may not be what one is accustomed to seeing in some of the other “big city” boardwalks, that have amusement rides and vendors lining the route. The Myrtle Beach boardwalk provides more of a scenic and relaxing view of the Atlantic Ocean. Allowing one to sit and enjoy the cool ocean breezes with it’s many sitting alcoves and rest areas. During the summer months as your stroll the boardwalk, you can be entertained by “Elvis”, bagpipe bands, or even a strolling Dixieland Band! Wednesday nights, weather permitting, you can catch a fireworks show starting around 9:30 pm.
You can still grab a bite to eat at Oceanfront Bar and Grill or several of the other boardwalk restaurants, or buy your souvenirs in the “Merchants Section” of the boardwalk all of which are located near the northern end of the boardwalk.
Plyler Park, located adjacent to the boardwalk at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Mr. Joe White Avenue (10th Ave. North), is the home to numerous concerts and festivals. Currently, the Hot Summer Nights Concert Series features free concerts on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights. A free Kiddie Carnival is held every Monday starting at 7pm.
We think the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade is one of America’s Most Awesome Boardwalks, if you haven’t visited it yet, come on down and enjoy!
