The days of parents struggling with baby strollers and our wheel chair bound visitors looking for a casual stroll of the beautiful Myrtle Beach surf, now have a safe and friendly way to achieve this goal. Just think, no more trudging that stroller or pushing that wheel chair through thick sand.

The wide design of the 1.2 mile long boardwalk is a perfect alternative for those looking for the leisurely stroll along the beachfront. Numerous covered sitting alcoves that are available along the entire route, allow for resting, catching those ocean breezes, picture taking, and enjoying unobstructed views of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

According to one of the local pier merchants, she stated that her business has seen a nice visitor increase in baby stroller and wheel chair customers. Strolling along the merchant plaza area of the boardwalk on a busy July day, we noticed several families with strollers in tow, enjoying a cool refreshing drink at one of the shaded open air merchant stores.

For those that would care to venture further out, the boardwalk has several stroller and wheel chair accessible ramps available all along the route.
